Soldiers of the First and Second Company, Governor's Foot Guard, New Haven, Connecticut, stand to attention on Norwichtown Green in celebration of Samuel Huntington's birthday. Arguably the first president of the USA, Huntington was president of Congress when the nation was first designated "United States" in the Articles of Confederation.
